MEDICINE HAT, AB – The snow has moved off, but several areas of Alberta are now bracing for extreme cold.

Environment Canada has issued extreme cold warnings for Medicine Hat and Cypress County, the Brooks-Strathmore-Vulcan region and the Oyen-Hanna and Coronation district

The wind chill could approach minus 40 degrees for the next two days.

Medicine Hat isn’t in the warning, but forecasters say wind chills here could still bottom out at minus 39 over the next two days.

The end is in sight, however, as Thursday’s high is forecast to reach 7 degrees in Medicine Hat.

Public works crews were out early again this morning as they continue to clean up the 22 centimetres of snow that fell on Medicine Hat from Friday night until Monday afternoon.
