Brooks cattle company receives industry award

BROOKS, AB — A Brooks area company has been recognized for its work in breeding cattle for 2017.

Bow Valley Genetics was awarded the Booster of the Year award by the Alberta Charolais Association earlier in December. The company offers embryo collection and transfer services on farms or at their donor centre, with a particular focus on the Charolais breed.

“The Charolais breed is well served by the support and dedication of this industry leading operation and especially the great team of people representing it every day,” says a news release announcing the award.

Cattle breeders from Alberta and British Columbia have utilized the company.

The news release goes on to state that Bow Valley Genetics has been a supporter of the Alberta Charolais Association throughout the year, attending several of the organization’s events, including FarmFair, the organizations summer tour.
