MEDICINE HAT, AB —The Medicine Hat Tigers will be without a key member of their lineup when playoffs begin this week.

Assistant coach Bobby Fox confirmed this week veteran centre-man James Hamblin will miss the playoffs.

On Tuesday, the Tigers confirmed Hamblin suffered several dislocations in his wrists.

Hamblin, 19, suffered the injury during Saturday night’s game against the Lethbridge Hurricanes at the Canalta Centre. Hamblin took a hit at centre ice, and skated immediately off the ice under his own power. He did not return to the game.

Elijah Brown will move up to the top-line centre spot, with Mark Rassell and Bryan Lockner on the wings.

In 70 games this regular season, Hamblin scored 21 goals and notched 43 assists for a career-high 64 points.

The Tigers begin their playoff series against the Brandon Wheat Kings on Friday at the Canalta Centre. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:30 p.m
